Covid-19 Providers Update

Dear New York Clinicians

We hope this email finds you well.

Last week, Governor Cuomo issued an executive order requiring all nursing home and adult care facilities to test or arrange for COVID19 testing for all staff and consultants on an ongoing basis. We were very pleased to receive this news and fully support this measure as it will help facilitate a safer environment for patients and for all who work at these facilities – including us!

Over the past few days, our Regional Directors have been receiving questions regarding this new regulation. Here is some helpful information and guidance:

1. The regulation does indeed apply to CHE clinicians and other consultants as well.

2. As each facility is responsible for arranging the testing, please contact your facility or facilities to consult with them regarding how they are implementing this regulation and any steps you need to take. Be sure to ask them how frequently you are required to be tested given the number of days you work onsite.

3. Most sites have already started to provide the testing onsite or are making arrangements to do so. However, if you work at a facility that is not making such arrangements, please see this list of downstate sites where CHE is offering testing: https://www.cheservices.com/covid-19-providers-update or this list of other NYC testing sites: https://www1.nyc.gov/site/coronavirus/resources/covid-testing.page

For other areas of NY State, please use this link: https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/find-test-site-near-you

4. If you have received a positive COVID19 diagnostic test result or a positive antibody test result, be sure to let your facility know as this will exempt you from ongoing testing. Also, if you are awaiting test results, please let your facility know and they will direct you regarding whether you can work in the interim.

5. Please remember to keep your record of being tested and your test results on-hand so you can provide them as needed.

6. Please reach out to your Regional Director with any questions.

Finally, as an unrelated but important matter of clarification: For phone sessions, please use the very same CPT codes and time ranges as traditional in-person sessions and video-call sessions. The same parameters are to be used universally.

Thank you all – and have a great week.
