Michael Lawler joined CHE Services in 2018 as a seasoned operator with 25+ years of healthcare experience. He began his career in healthcare with a variety of roles initially as VP of Operations for Apria Healthcare, a home care, oncology and pharmacy services provider. He transitioned to Alliance Healthcare Services, a publicly traded diagnostic imaging and radiation oncology business where he spent several years as VP of Operations. He later became the COO of TwinMed, LLC, a PE-owned medical supplies and services company. Michael has closed and integrated more than 41 acquisitions. Michael is actively engaged in lobbying and legislative activities for healthcare and regulatory reform and has served on numerous charitable and corporate boards throughout his career.
Raphael Treitel received his JD degree from the Benjamin N. Cardoza School of Law/Yeshiva University in 1999. His early professional experience included working as a litigator. Subsequently, he developed a specialty in healthcare regulation, and is a noted lecturer on various topics pertaining to healthcare programs and systems. He serves on the boards of several healthcare, educational, and social service organizations, and is engaged in lobbying for healthcare and regulatory reform. Since 2001 he has worked for CHE Services in multiple capacities, and currently serves as its President. He is responsible for the development and implementation of state-of-the art programs and multi-faceted initiatives to promote optimal behavioral health services for residents in long–term care settings.
Nathan Treitel received his BTL degree from the Mirrer Central Institute and The University of Connecticut, where he majored in Marketing. For the past 10 years he has worked for CHE Services in various capacities, and currently serves as its EVP and COO. He is responsible for the recruitment of multi-disciplinary mental health professionals to provide diverse psychological services for residents of long-term care facilities. He was instrumental in promoting the growth of the organization in the New York and New Jersey regions – attracting highly prestigious nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, and assisted living facilities to its client roster.
Dino Quarante joined CHE Services in 2019 with 20+ years of healthcare industry experience; he leads CHE’s financial operations including accounting, FP&A, and revenue cycle management. Previously, he held various positions at Acadia Healthcare, where he most recently served as Group CFO. He also holds CPA certifications in California and Arizona.
Executive Vice President of Operations
Lucy Janoyan, MHA, NHA is a versatile and entrepreneurial healthcare executive with expertise in growth and strategy for healthcare organizations. Lucy currently serves as Executive Vice President of Operations for CHE Services and leads expansion into new markets for inpatient and outpatient telehealth services. With 18 years of healthcare leadership experience in organizations such as Generations Healthcare, Sava Senior Care and Kaiser Permanente, Lucy passionately pursues consistent team, talent and network development to achieve and maintain organizational goals. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Gerontology as well as an MHA from the University of Southern California.
Dr. Jennifer Birdsall
Chief Clinical Officer
Dr. Jennifer Birdsall is the Chief Clinical Officer of CHE Services. She specializes in clinical geropsychology and is a licensed psychologist in the states of California, New York, and Connecticut. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Louisville. She completed her Clinical Internship and Fellowship at the Pittsburgh VA Healthcare System with focused training in clinical geropsychology, neuropsychology, and health psychology. She has treated adults and older adults in numerous interdisciplinary team settings including home based care, outpatient and primary care, inpatient psychiatry, and long-term care. She is actively involved in professional service roles, including APA’s Society of Clinical Geropsychology, APA's Division 20: Adult Development and Aging, Psychologists in Long-Term Care (PLTC), and CA's Partnership to Improve Dementia Care.
Shannon McFarlin, MA, LMFT
Vice President, Telehealth & Outpatient Services
Shannon McFarlin is the Vice President of Telehealth & Outpatient Services at CHE, supporting the growth of the provider community and expansion of outpatient services across the US. She began her career designing online and app-based product and service experiences, and transitioned to clinical work as a licensed marriage and family therapist in 2012. She combined her tech and clinical expertise in innovative roles in health-tech, most notably, Talkspace, where she spent five rapid-growth years on the clinical leadership team responsible for defining the clinician and patient platform experience, developing clinician training and development programs, establishing online practice policy and protocol, and overseeing clinical quality.
Shannon is a licensed marriage and family therapist in California, Washington, and Illinois and received her MA from Antioch University, Seattle. She is Board Certified in Telemental Health, a Clinical Fellow with AAMFT and certified in Brené Brown’s Daring Way and Dare to Lead curriculum.
